Suunto Compasses "The Balloonists Choice"
Suunto develops and manufactures compasses and instruments which are exported to all parts of the world. Their compasses combine precision accuracy with fast, easy operation. Needle cards are immersed in a special damping fluid to ensure minimal vibration and smooth movement.
On this page, we offer four Suunto optical sighting compass models, Suunto's Clinometer & Compass/Clinometer Combination, as well as an assortment of protective cases and covers.
1. Aluminum Optical Sighting Compass
The
Aluminum series compasses and Clinometers are Suunto's top of the line. Designed for
maximum durability and serviceability. With an optical sighting compass you can view your
target and read bearings simultaneously.
All aluminum models have reciprocal scales(small backsight bearings are printed above the larger foresight bearings for easier navigational use). Graduated to 1/2 degree. Vinyl carry case and lanyard are included. Body threaded for tripod use.
2. Aluminum Sighting Compass with Adjustable Declination & Optical Adjustment See pricing below. The added feature of adjustable declination allows the user to pre-set the declination for the area of operation. User can also use the optical adjustment for focusing.

The Vista plastic model is a high impact version of the standard aluminum model, however, the bearing scale is graduated to 1 degree. The housing protects against impact, moisture and corrosion.

Measures the vertical angles of a pibal for use with Theodolite computer programs for generating wind aloft data.
